Creative Writing

Novelist, poet, essayist and prose writer

Deer Apples, my first novel, is the story of a family, their secrets and their loves. Written from the points of view first of the matriarch, Grace, who is, let's face it, rather dotty. Grace has started seeing and talking to her dead husband Gregory. Other family members' stories braid through a year of 80-something Grace's world. Click here to read the first 29 pages.

Bone Box is a work in progress. January 2018, I spent two weeks in residency at the Vermont Studio Center and moved the narrative forward. I am on track to complete my first draft this fall. Click here to read the first two chapters.

Written in first person present from the point of view of a 12 year old, it tells her story of the loss of her father and her immersion in a local mystery about disapperaing women when she is sent off for the summer to her grandparents in Maine.

Seeking representation and publishers for both.

Several short stories and poems have been published in a variety of anthologies and journals.

Featured in America's Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction, published October 2018. Purchase your copy here . Read my selection here .
